How Selling Rust Skins on SkinsGallery Works

23 Feb, 2026 admin

Selling skins online should be simple, automated, and secure. That’s exactly why we built our Steam Seller Plugin.

Here’s how it works — from your perspective as a seller.

Step 1 — Connect Your Steam Account

You log in via official Steam authentication.

We do not access your password. Steam confirms your identity and provides us your Steam ID.

Step 2 — Sync Your Inventory

Once logged in:

  • Our system securely reads your public Rust inventory.
  • You can select which skins you want to sell.
  • You set your desired price (or use suggested pricing).

Nothing is removed from your inventory at this stage.

Step 3 — Listing & Reservation Logic

When you list a skin:

  • It remains in your Steam inventory.
  • Our system tracks its asset ID.
  • The item is marked as “available” on our marketplace.

If a buyer purchases it:

  • The item becomes temporarily reserved.
  • Our system verifies it still exists in your inventory.
  • We automatically initiate a trade request.

Step 4 — Automated Trade Execution

Once a buyer completes payment:

  1. Our Steam bot sends you a trade offer.
  2. You confirm it in your Steam app.
  3. The item is transferred to the buyer.

The process is fully automated. No manual middlemen.

Step 5 — Payment Settlement

After the trade is successfully completed:

  • The sale is marked as finalized.
  • Your balance is updated.
  • You can withdraw funds according to platform rules.

Why This System Is Secure

Our plugin ensures:

  • No direct access to your account.
  • No password handling.
  • No API key exposure.
  • Real-time inventory validation.
  • Automated bot-controlled trades.

If an item is removed from your inventory before sale, it automatically becomes unavailable on the marketplace.

Why We Built It This Way

Traditional skin marketplaces often:

  • Hold items before sale.
  • Require manual deposit.
  • Create friction in selling.

Our system removes that friction.

You keep control of your inventory until the moment it is sold.
